Source: Graduate Management Admission Council, GMAT Score Concordance Tables (Total, Quantitative, Verbal), published August 2026 (data 1 July 2021 – 30 June 2026). GMAC updates the percentiles every year in the third quarter. The Data Insights score has no table in these files, and the total estimate above is this tool’s own linear scaling, not GMAC’s formula.

A GMAT score calculator and chart built on GMAC’s own tables

This GMAT score calculator turns the numbers on your score report into something you can compare. Type your Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights scores (each 60 to 90) and you see the percentile GMAC publishes for the Quantitative and Verbal scores. Type a total score from either edition and you get its percentile ranking and the linked score on the other scale: the GMAT to GMAT Focus conversion from the 10th Edition’s 200 to 800 to the Focus Edition’s 205 to 805.

Every percentile and every concordance pair comes from GMAC’s published concordance tables (August 2026, test takers from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2026). Nothing is interpolated, and where GMAC publishes nothing — a Data Insights percentile, or the formula that builds the total — the page says so instead of guessing.

How to use the GMAT Score Calculator

  1. Enter the Quantitative, Verbal and Data Insights section scores from your report (60–90, whole numbers).
  2. Read the Quantitative and Verbal percentiles and, if you want a rough guide, the estimated Focus total.
  3. In “Total score”, choose the edition, type the total and read its percentile ranking and the other edition’s equivalent.
  4. Use “What total do I need for a percentile?” to turn a target such as the 90th percentile into a Focus score.
  5. Scroll the two charts; your rows are highlighted. Press Copy result to keep the figures with their source line.

GMAC percentile rankings for the Focus total (August 2026 table). Because the two scales are not the same size, a 10th Edition score is linked to a short run of Focus scores.

How the old-to-Focus conversion works

GMAC does not convert by arithmetic. Its concordance matches scores that sit at the same percentile in each edition’s test-taker pool, which is why GMAC advises comparing percentile rankings rather than the raw totals. A 10th Edition 700 sits at 85.6% to 89.6%, so it lines up with a Focus 645 or 655. A 10th Edition 800 corresponds to a Focus 805.

Focus totals always end in 5 and 10th Edition totals end in 0, so a score ending in the wrong digit is rejected rather than rounded.

What is estimated, and what is not

The three Focus sections are weighted equally and each runs from 60 to 90, but GMAC does not publish the formula that produces the 205–805 total. The “rough estimate” here scales the sum of the three sections linearly across 205–805 and rounds to a score ending in 5; real totals can differ by a few tens of points, so trust your score report. The percentile tables also change every year, so a figure from an older chart may differ by a point or two.

Admissions teams consider far more than one number. For a different exam, try the GRE score percentile finder; to budget for the degree, see the study abroad cost calculator.

GMAT Score Calculator FAQ

How do I convert my old GMAT score to GMAT Focus?

Choose “10th Edition”, type the total (for example 700) and read the Focus range GMAC links to it (645 to 655). The match is by percentile, so it is a range rather than one number.

What is a 645 GMAT Focus score in percentile?

On GMAC’s August 2026 table a Focus 645 is the 85.6th percentile ranking, linked to a 10th Edition score of 690 to 700.

Can this GMAT score calculator work out my total from section scores?

Only roughly. GMAC does not publish its formula, so the page shows a clearly labelled linear estimate. Your official score report has the real total.

Why is there no Data Insights percentile?

GMAC’s published concordance files cover the Total, Quantitative and Verbal scores. Rather than guess, the page leaves Data Insights without a percentile.

Why do Focus scores end in 5?

GMAC designed the Focus scale to run 205 to 805 in steps of 10 so that a Focus score cannot be mistaken for a 10th Edition score, which ends in 0.

How current are the percentiles?

They are GMAC’s August 2026 tables, covering 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2026. GMAC refreshes them each year, so check the source link for newer files.
