Work out a Delhi Metro fare in seconds

This metro fare calculator gives the Delhi Metro fare for a journey from its distance, using the operator’s published fare slabs. Choose Monday to Saturday or Sunday and national holidays, pick a token or QR ticket or a smart card, and it applies the card discount — 10% at all times, 20% when you enter in off-peak hours on Monday to Saturday.

It also covers the Airport Express Line, which has its own station-to-station fares, and Rapid Metro Gurugram, which charges a flat fare. Enter how many journeys you make to see a weekly or monthly cost and how much a card saves against tokens.

How to use the Metro Fare Calculator

  1. Choose the line or system: the Delhi Metro network, the Airport Express Line or Rapid Metro Gurugram.
  2. For the main network, enter the travel distance in kilometres; for the Airport Line, pick the two stations.
  3. Select the day type and the kind of ticket.
  4. With a smart card, enter the time you enter the station so the off-peak discount can be checked.
  5. Optionally enter the number of journeys for a monthly total.

Delhi Metro fares (as of 24 October 2026)

The fares are those on the Delhi Metro operator’s fare page, in force since the revision of 25 August 2025: ₹11 up to 2 km, ₹21 for 2–5 km, ₹32 for 5–12 km, ₹43 for 12–21 km, ₹54 for 21–32 km and ₹64 beyond 32 km from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays and national holidays — Republic Day, Independence Day and 2 October — the fares are ₹11, ₹11, ₹21, ₹32, ₹43 and ₹54. The page lists the bands as “0–2, 2–5…”, so this tool treats a distance exactly on a boundary as belonging to the lower band.

The smart card page gives 10% off every journey plus a further 10% when you enter the paid area in off-peak hours: from the start of service until 08:00, from 12:00 until 17:00, and from 21:00 to the close. The extra discount applies from Monday to Saturday, not on national holidays — and Sunday fares are already lower. The National Common Mobility Card page states the same 10% peak and 20% off-peak discount.

Worked examples

A 10 km trip on a Wednesday costs ₹32 with a token or QR ticket. With a smart card entering at 10:00 it is ₹28.80; entering at 13:00 it is ₹25.60. On a Sunday the same trip is ₹21, or ₹18.90 with a card. A 15 km commute at 08:30 costs ₹43, or ₹38.70 by card; 44 journeys a month come to ₹1,702.80, saving ₹189.20 against tokens.

Why you enter the distance

Delhi Metro charges by the shortest-route distance between stations. A station-to-station table is published as open transit data, but its terms reserve all rights and do not permit reuse, so this tool does not bundle station distances. The operator’s journey planner and app show the distance for any pair of stations; enter it here to see the fare and discounts. The Noida–Greater Noida Aqua Line is run by a different operator with its own fares, and other cities’ metros are not modelled yet.

For the rest of your trip, compare a cab or auto with the auto and taxi fare calculator, or estimate long-distance rail with the train fare calculator.
