Design 600 × 240 profile banners, 960 × 540 server banners and 1920 × 1080 invite backgrounds with overlap previews.

Show on the canvas (never exported)

Tap a layer to select it · drag to move (it snaps to the centre and safe-area lines; hold Alt to stop snapping) · corners resize · the round handle rotates (Shift = 15° steps) · double-tap text to edit.

Templates are drawn in code — swap the words, colours and photo placeholders for your own.

How it looks in Discord

Format

Exports at the exact pixel size shown above. 1 KB = 1,000 bytes and 1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes, so a file under the limit here is under it everywhere.

Your design is saved in this browser automatically. A saved .json file keeps every layer, font choice and photo so you can reopen it on any device.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter or upload is sent to a server.

A Discord banner maker for profiles, servers and invites

Discord shows three kinds of banner, and each one has something sitting on top of it. Your round avatar overlaps the bottom-left corner of a profile banner; the server name is printed across the top of a server banner; and the invite card covers the middle of an invite background. This Discord banner maker draws each of those over the canvas, warns you when a word ends up underneath, and shows a small preview of the profile card, the channel list or the invite page.

Design with gradients, patterns, outlined text, stickers and emoji, or put your own artwork in the background, then download a PNG or JPG at exactly the size Discord expects. Animated GIF banners are out of scope: this tool makes still images only. Everything happens in your browser, so your artwork is never uploaded.

How to use the Discord Banner Maker

  1. Choose a banner type: Profile banner (600 × 240 or the sharper 1200 × 480), Server banner or Invite background.
  2. Start from a matching template — the ones made for the chosen size are listed first — or start blank.
  3. Edit the text and colours. On a profile banner keep words on the right; the grey circle shows where your avatar will sit.
  4. Check the preview under the canvas: the profile card, the 240-pixel channel list or the invite page.
  5. Download PNG and upload it in Discord: User Settings → Profiles → Profile Banner, or Server Settings → Server Boost / Overview for server images.

Discord Banner Maker features

Avatar overlap preview

The avatar circle and online dot are drawn where they cover a profile banner, and a profile card mock shows your name underneath.

Server and invite layouts

The server-name bar over a server banner and an approximate invite card over the invite background, each with warnings.

Four exact sizes

600 × 240 and 1200 × 480 profile banners, 960 × 540 server banners and 1920 × 1080 invite backgrounds.

Gamer-friendly styles

Neon glows, outlined comic fonts like Bangers and Luckiest Guy, grid and stripe patterns and burst stickers.

Under 10 MB, guaranteed

Discord’s upload limit for these images is 10 MB; the size cap is preset and lowers JPG quality only if a photo-heavy design needs it.

Still images only

Exports are PNG, JPG or WebP. Animated GIF banners (a Nitro and Level 3 boost feature) are not made here.

Discord banner sizes and requirements (as of October 2026)

Worked example: keeping a profile banner clear of the avatar

On a 600 × 240 banner the avatar circle is centred about 102 px from the left edge, right on the bottom edge, with a radius of roughly 72 px including its ring. It therefore covers everything left of about x = 175 in the bottom 72 px. The “Gamer tag” template puts NIGHT OWL at x = 420 and its second line at y = 150, both clear of that corner, and the clear-area guide runs from x = 210 to 576.

Discord shows the profile card about 340 points wide, so the banner is scaled to 340 ÷ 600 ≈ 0.57. The 66 px NIGHT OWL title ends up about 37 points tall and the 26 px second line about 15 points — both readable. Text below 16 px on the 600-pixel banner would fall under 9 points, where the tool starts warning.

Tips for Discord banners

  • Match your avatar. Pick banner colours from your avatar so the circle looks intentional rather than pasted on.
  • Upload the 1200 × 480 version if you can — it is the same 5:2 shape with twice the pixels, so text stays crisp on high-density screens.
  • Server banners are small in the sidebar. The channel list is about 240 pixels wide; a short server motto beats a paragraph.
  • Need a name to go with it? Try the Username Generator, add flair with the Fancy Text Generator, and cut out a character or mascot with Remove Background before placing it here.

Discord Banner Maker FAQ

What size should a Discord profile banner be?

At least 600 × 240 pixels, a 5:2 shape. This Discord banner maker also makes 1200 × 480, the same shape at double resolution. Profile banners need Nitro, and files must be under 10 MB.

What size is a Discord server banner?

At least 960 × 540 pixels in 16:9; 1920 × 1080 works too and Discord scales it down. Server banners unlock at Server Boost Level 2.

What is a Discord invite background?

Also called the invite splash: a 1920 × 1080 image shown behind the invite card when someone opens your server’s invite link. It needs Boost Level 1.

Why is part of my profile banner hidden?

Your avatar overlaps the bottom-left corner of the banner on your profile card. Keep text and faces on the right two-thirds — the grey circle on the canvas shows the covered area.

Can I make an animated GIF banner here?

No. This tool exports still PNG, JPG or WebP images. Animated banners need Nitro (profiles) or Boost Level 3 (servers) and a GIF made in an animation tool.

Is this tool connected to Discord?

No. It is an independent editor; you download the image and upload it in Discord yourself. Nothing is sent anywhere except the font requests to Google Fonts.
