ODP to PPTX Converter

Turn LibreOffice Impress .odp slides into PowerPoint .pptx in your browser — layouts and notes kept.

Drop .odp presentations here or click to choose OpenDocument slides from LibreOffice Impress or OpenOffice · old .ppt works too · never uploaded

Your files are converted on your device and never uploaded. LibreOffice (MPL-2.0) is downloaded once from jsDelivr after you agree, then kept by your browser.

Convert OpenDocument presentations to PowerPoint

This ODP to PPTX converter turns LibreOffice Impress and Apache OpenOffice presentations (.odp) into Microsoft PowerPoint files. LibreOffice runs inside your browser and saves each deck with its own PowerPoint export filter, so slides, layouts, masters, text, shapes, tables, pictures and speaker notes arrive in PowerPoint as editable objects — not flattened pictures.

It’s what you need when you built a talk in Impress but the conference laptop only has PowerPoint, when a client wants slides they can edit, or when a class shares .odp files and you work in Keynote or Google Slides, both of which import .pptx more reliably. The presentation never leaves your device.

How to use the ODP to PPTX Converter

  1. Drop one or more .odp files on the box above, or click to choose them; .otp templates and old .ppt decks are accepted too.
  2. Press Convert to PPTX. The first time, confirm the one-time 79 MB LibreOffice download.
  3. Flip through the slide preview of the new .pptx and check the slide count and shape.
  4. Download the PowerPoint file, or all converted decks as a ZIP.
  5. Open the .pptx in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides and run through it once before presenting.

About the two formats

.odp is the presentation part of the OpenDocument Format (ISO/IEC 26300), used natively by LibreOffice Impress and OpenOffice. .pptx is PowerPoint’s Office Open XML format (ISO/IEC 29500), the default since PowerPoint 2007. Both are ZIP packages of XML, but they model shapes, placeholders and animations differently, so LibreOffice translates each slide rather than simply renaming the file.

Converting in the other direction? Use PPTX to ODP. For a version that can’t be edited, make a PDF with PPT to PDF, or export slide images with PPTX to JPG.

Tips for a smooth hand-over

  • Fonts are the biggest source of surprises. If you used Liberation Sans or DejaVu, PowerPoint shows Arial or another substitute — the Liberation fonts share Arial’s widths, so text boxes hold their size.
  • Re-check slides with complex custom animations or embedded media in PowerPoint before presenting, ideally on the computer you will present from.
  • Sending the deck to someone who only needs to read it? A PDF is safer than any editable format — fonts and layout can’t shift on their machine.
  • LibreOffice needs a recent Chrome, Edge or Firefox and about 1.5 GB of free memory; Safari and iPhone browsers can’t run it yet.

ODP to PPTX Converter FAQ

How do I convert ODP to PPTX for free?

Drop the .odp file above and press Convert to PPTX. LibreOffice downloads once (79 MB) and then converts each presentation in a second or two. No sign-up, no watermark.

Will my slides stay editable in PowerPoint?

Yes. Text, lists, tables, shapes and pictures become normal PowerPoint objects, and master slides become slide masters.

Are speaker notes and animations kept?

Speaker notes are kept for every slide. Transitions and common animations carry over; complex custom animation sequences may need checking in PowerPoint.

Is my presentation uploaded?

No. LibreOffice runs inside your browser and the presentation is converted on your device.

Can I open an ODP file in PowerPoint without converting?

Recent PowerPoint versions can open .odp files, but layouts and animations are often handled better when LibreOffice exports a proper .pptx, which is what this page does.

Does it work in Safari or on iPad?

Not yet. LibreOffice needs cross-origin isolation, which Safari and every iPad browser don’t support. Use Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer or Android device.
