Convert PDF to PowerPoint slides in one step
The PDF to PowerPoint converter turns each page of a PDF into a slide in a .pptx presentation. Pages are rendered at high resolution and placed on their own slides, so charts, scanned pages, brochures, handouts and lecture notes look exactly as they do in the PDF — fonts, colours and layout included.
It is the quickest way to present a PDF in a meeting or classroom, add a few pages to an existing deck, or annotate pages with PowerPoint’s pen and shapes. Tick the speaker-notes option and the text found on each page is copied into that slide’s notes, ready for presenter view or for copying into new text boxes.
Be clear about the trade-off: the slides are pictures of the pages, not editable text boxes. That keeps the look perfect, but you cannot retype words on the slide. All the work happens in your browser — the PDF is never uploaded, unlike server-based converters.
How to use the PDF to PowerPoint
- Drop a PDF onto the upload area or click it to choose one.
- Choose the slide size: match the PDF page, widescreen 16:9 or standard 4:3. Pages that don’t match are centred on a white slide.
- Pick the image quality and, if you like, the pages to include, such as
1-12. - Leave “Add each page’s text to the slide’s speaker notes” ticked to keep the words searchable in notes.
- Press “Convert to PowerPoint”. The .pptx downloads when it is ready, and thumbnails of every slide appear below.
PDF to PowerPoint features
Pixel-perfect slides
Each page is rendered by the pdf.js engine at up to 220 DPI, so text, vector graphics and photos stay crisp on a projector.
Three slide sizes
Keep the PDF’s own page shape, or use the standard 16:9 or 4:3 PowerPoint sizes with the page centred.
Speaker notes from page text
The text layer of each page is copied into the notes, line by line — handy for presenter view and accessibility.
Pick your pages
Convert the whole document or only the pages you need.
Opens anywhere
The .pptx file works in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote, LibreOffice Impress and WPS.
No upload
Pages are drawn and packed into the presentation on your own device.
Which slide size should you choose?
| Your PDF | Best slide size | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Slides exported from PowerPoint, Keynote or Canva | Match the PDF page | Already slide-shaped, so they fill the slide edge to edge |
| A4 or Letter documents | Match the PDF page | Portrait slides keep the text large; 16:9 would leave wide white bands |
| A mix you will add to an existing deck | 16:9 or 4:3 (same as the deck) | Slides of different sizes can’t be mixed in one presentation |
Image quality and file size
Higher quality means sharper slides and a larger file. 150 DPI suits most screens and projectors; a 16:9 slide-shaped page becomes about 1,500 pixels wide. Choose 220 DPI for small print or when you plan to zoom in, and 110 DPI to keep a long presentation light enough to email. Very large pages, such as posters, are automatically capped to stay within browser memory limits.
Need editable text instead?
- For editable paragraphs, convert with PDF to Word and paste text into your slides.
- For single images to drop into an existing deck, use PDF to JPG.
- Going the other way? PowerPoint to PDF turns a .pptx back into a PDF.
PDF to PowerPoint FAQ
How do I convert a PDF to PowerPoint for free?
Drop the PDF above, choose a slide size and press “Convert to PowerPoint”. The .pptx downloads automatically — free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Can I edit the text on the slides?
No — each slide is a high-resolution image of the page, which keeps the layout exact. The page text is placed in the speaker notes so you can copy it into text boxes, or use PDF to Word for fully editable text.
Will it work in Google Slides?
Yes. Upload the .pptx to Google Drive and open it with Google Slides, or use File → Import slides in an existing presentation.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Pages are rendered and the presentation is assembled in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
Why is there white space around some slides?
When a page’s shape differs from the slide size — for example an A4 page on a 16:9 slide — the page is centred without stretching. Choose “Match the PDF page” to avoid the bands.
How many pages can I convert?
There is no fixed limit; it depends on your device’s memory. For very long PDFs use the Standard quality or convert in parts with the Pages box.
