Work out the visa fee for everyone travelling
This visa fee calculator adds up the government visa charges for a whole family or group applying to the Schengen area, the United Kingdom, the United States or Australia. Pick the destination and visa type, enter how many adults and children are applying in each age band, and it shows the official charges in euros, pounds, dollars or Australian dollars, with a line for every fee.
People search for things like “Schengen visa fee in INR” or “UK visa fee calculator” because the amount on the official page is in a foreign currency and the rules for children differ by country. Enter the exchange rate your bank or card will use and the tool converts the total to rupees or any currency, then adds the service-centre charges and other costs you enter yourself.
How to use the Visa Fee Calculator
- Choose the destination and the visa type.
- Enter the number of applicants in each age band: adults, 12–17, 6–11 and under 6.
- For a UK study, work or family visa, enter the length of stay so the Immigration Health Surcharge is added.
- For the US, add a visa integrity or issuance fee only if it applies to you.
- Open Your currency and other costs, enter your exchange rate, the service charge per applicant and any other costs.
- Read the total and the line-by-line table, and copy the breakdown if you need it.

Fees used (as of 24 October 2026)
Schengen: Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/1415 set the fee at €90 and €45 for children from six to under twelve, in force from 11 June 2024; the European Commission’s visa page still lists these amounts. Children under six pay nothing under Article 16 of the Visa Code. A few nationalities pay reduced fees under facilitation agreements, and some groups such as students on study trips can have the fee waived — not modelled here.
UK: the Home Office fees table effective 8 October 2026 (unchanged from 8 April 2026) and the GOV.UK Immigration Health Surcharge page. The surcharge is charged per year of leave; a final part year of six months or less costs half. Health and Care Worker applicants and visitors do not pay it.
US: the consular fee schedule in force since 30 May 2023; a State Department rule of June 2026 confirms the $185 fee and adds an optional $750 expedited B1/B2 interview at selected posts until 31 December 2026. A visa integrity fee of at least $250 per issued visa is written into law, but I could not confirm from an official page whether or how much is being collected, so it is a blank field you fill in.
Australia: amounts returned by the Home Affairs Visa Pricing Estimator for a lodgement on 24 October 2026; prices were last revised on 1 July 2026. The estimator prices visitor visas per applicant, so each traveller is charged the visitor charge. Second instalments, surcharges for card payments and the non-internet charge are not included.
| Destination | Visa | Government fee |
|---|---|---|
| Schengen | Short-stay (C) or airport transit (A) | €90; €45 aged 6–11; free under 6 |
| UK | Standard visitor, up to 6 months | £135 per person |
| UK | Student / Child Student | £558 + health surcharge £776 a year |
| UK | Skilled Worker, 3 years or less | £819 + surcharge £1,035 a year (£776 under 18) |
| US | B1/B2, F, M, J, C, D | $185 |
| US | H, L, O, P, Q, R / E | $205 / $315 |
| Australia | Visitor (600) Tourist, outside Australia | A$250 per person |
| Australia | Student (500) | A$2,500; extra adult A$1,530; child A$500 |
Worked example
Two adults and one eight-year-old applying for Schengen visas pay €90 + €90 + €45 = €225. At a rate of ₹100 per euro that is ₹22,500. If the visa centre charges ₹1,000 per applicant, add ₹3,000, for ₹25,500 before courier or insurance. For a UK student staying 30 months with one child, the visa fees are £558 × 2 and the surcharge is 2.5 years × £776 × 2, so £1,116 + £3,880 = £4,996.
What this does not cover
National long-stay (type D) visas for Schengen countries, US immigrant visas and green cards, Australian permanent visas not listed here, biometric and priority-service add-ons, and reduced fees for specific nationalities are outside the tool. Fees are refundable only in limited cases, so a refusal usually means the money is lost. This is an estimate for budgeting, not legal or immigration advice.
Plan the rest of the trip with the Schengen bank balance calculator, the 90/180-day calculator and the passport validity checker.
