URL to PDF

Paste a link and get a PDF that looks like the page — desktop, tablet or phone layout, A4, Letter or one long page.

Scripts are not run and nothing is logged in, so pages built by JavaScript, or behind a login, paywall or cookie wall, may come out incomplete.
Screen width
No page loaded

Paste a link above and press Load page to preview it — or go straight to Download PDF.

Download PDF captures the page at the screen width you chose and cuts it into sheets between lines of text, with links that still work. The text is part of the picture, so it can’t be selected.

Print / Save as PDF opens your browser’s print dialog for the cleaned page: pick “Save as PDF” for real, selectable text. Only want the article? Webpage to PDF makes a clean reader-mode copy, and HTML to PDF converts HTML code or a saved file.

The address you enter, then the page’s stylesheets, pictures and fonts, are fetched by Galaxy of Tools’ page fetcher, because browsers can’t read other sites directly — without cookies or logins, and fetched pages are cached for up to 10 minutes. Scripts never run, and the PDF is made in your browser.

Convert any URL to PDF — the way the page looks

The URL to PDF converter turns a web page address into a PDF that looks like the page on screen: colours, pictures, fonts and layout included. Paste a link to an article, a product page, an order confirmation or a documentation page, choose the desktop, tablet or phone layout, and download a paginated PDF — or save one from your browser’s print dialog.

Browsers don’t let one website read another, so Galaxy of Tools’ small page fetcher fetches the page for you, with the stylesheets, pictures and fonts it needs. It is then rebuilt on your device in a locked-down frame with every script removed, and the PDF is assembled right here in your browser.

Want only the article, without menus and adverts? Webpage to PDF is the reader-mode version. Have HTML code or a saved page? HTML to PDF converts it without fetching anything.

How to convert a URL to PDF

  1. Paste the address into Web page address and press Load page (or Enter). The page appears in the preview window.
  2. Pick a Screen width: Desktop (1,280 px), Tablet (768 px) or Phone (390 px). The site’s own responsive design decides how the page rearranges.
  3. Choose the Page size — A4, US Letter, or Fit to content for one long page — and the margins.
  4. Leave Hide cookie & consent pop-ups ticked so banners don’t cover the text; untick Background graphics for an ink-friendly file.
  5. Press Download PDF for a ready-made file with clickable links, or Print / Save as PDF and choose “Save as PDF” to keep the text selectable.

URL to PDF features

Desktop, tablet or phone layout

The page is laid out in a real 1,280, 768 or 390 px viewport, so the site’s media queries switch exactly as they would on that device.

Page breaks between lines

Every line of text and every picture is measured, and each cut between sheets moves up into the nearest gap, so nothing is sliced in half.

Links that still work

Web links in the downloaded PDF open the site; links to another part of the page jump to the right sheet.

Cookie banners removed

Pop-ups from the common consent platforms, and fixed overlays covering most of the screen, are hidden — or kept, if you untick the option.

Only the files the page shows

Pictures and fonts are fetched only when the laid-out page uses them, with a live list of each file, its size and anything that failed.

Pages that won’t convert completely — and why

A fetched page is rebuilt from its HTML and CSS alone: nothing runs and nothing is logged in. That keeps you safe, but it has limits.

  • Pages built by JavaScript. Web apps, dashboards, social feeds and some news sites send an almost empty page and draw everything with scripts. They come out blank or partial, and the tool warns you.
  • Logins, paywalls and cookie walls. With no account and no cookies, the fetcher sees what a logged-out first-time visitor sees.
  • Sites that block automated visitors answer with an error such as “refused the request (HTTP 403)”.
  • Moving parts. Videos become their poster image, embedded players and maps are removed, and menus that a script would fold away may show open.
  • Private addresses — localhost, 192.168.x.x, intranet names — can’t be reached, by design.

What happens to the page you convert

Galaxy of Tools’ page fetcher downloads the HTML from the public internet without cookies, follows up to five redirects, refuses private and local addresses, and returns the HTML as text — it is never opened on our site. Stylesheets, pictures and fonts come the same way, up to 150 pictures, 24 font files and 40 MB per page. Fetched pages may be cached for up to ten minutes; nothing is linked to you.

Scripts, event handlers, embedded frames, plugins, form targets and automatic redirects are stripped before anything is shown, and the preview frame is not allowed to run scripts at all. The PDF is assembled locally with html2canvas and jsPDF (both MIT-licensed) and never uploaded. Shrink a large result with Compress PDF, or combine pages with Merge PDF.

URL to PDF FAQ

How do I convert a URL to PDF for free?

Paste the address, press Load page, pick a screen width and page size, then press Download PDF. There’s no sign-up and no watermark; a fair-use limit only caps how many pages can be fetched in ten minutes.

Why is my PDF blank or missing parts of the page?

The page is probably drawn by JavaScript, or it sits behind a login, paywall or cookie wall. Scripts don’t run here and nothing is logged in, so only what is in the page’s HTML appears. Open the page in your browser and press Ctrl+P (⌘P on a Mac) → Save as PDF.

Can I select and copy the text in the PDF?

Not in the downloaded file: each sheet is a picture of the page, though its links still work. Use Print / Save as PDF for selectable text, or Webpage to PDF for a clean text document.

Is it safe to convert a page I don’t trust?

Yes. Scripts and event handlers are removed before the page is shown, the preview frame is sandboxed with scripts switched off, and your browser never connects to the site itself — only to Galaxy of Tools’ fetcher.

Can it save a page that needs a login, like an account statement?

No. The fetcher has none of your cookies or passwords. Print such a page from your browser, or save it as an .html file and use HTML to PDF.

What is the difference between URL to PDF and Webpage to PDF?

URL to PDF keeps the design — a faithful snapshot of the page. Webpage to PDF is reader mode: it finds the main article, drops menus, adverts and comments, and typesets a clean PDF with selectable text.
