Estimates from TRON’s published resource rules and on-chain measurements dated 24 October 2026. Network parameters change by on-chain governance and the energy factor of busy contracts changes every maintenance cycle; your wallet’s estimate for the actual transaction is final. Not financial advice.

Fees are calculated in your browser. Only the optional “Get current chain parameters” button contacts a public TRON node (api.trongrid.io) to read network-wide settings; it sends no address and nothing about you.

What this TRC-20 fee calculator works out

A token transfer on TRON does not have a gas price like Ethereum. It consumes two resources: energy for running the token contract and bandwidth for the bytes of the transaction. If your account has staked (or rented) energy and bandwidth, the transfer uses those. If not, the network burns TRX from your balance to pay for them. This TRC-20 fee calculator — the “gas fee calculator” for TRON and for USDT sent as a TRC-20 token — shows how much energy and bandwidth a transfer needs and how many TRX are burned.

The biggest factor is who receives the tokens. Sending to an address that already holds the token updates an existing balance; sending to an address with a zero balance creates a new storage slot in the contract, which costs roughly twice the energy. Busy contracts such as USDT also pay a dynamic energy surcharge, currently ×4.4.

Defaults come from TRON’s developer documentation and from the chain itself on 24 October 2026; one button reads the current chain parameters from a public node. The figures are estimates for planning, not financial advice — your wallet’s estimate for the actual transaction is final.

How to use the TRC-20 Transfer Fee Calculator

  1. Pick the Token: USDT on TRON (energy filled in for you) or another TRC-20 token (enter its energy per transfer).
  2. Choose whether the recipient already holds the token or has a zero balance.
  3. Enter any staked or rented energy and staked bandwidth you have, and the free bandwidth left today (600 if you have not sent anything).
  4. Optionally press Get current chain parameters to refresh the energy price, bandwidth price and energy factor.
  5. Read the TRX burned, the fee limit to allow and how much TRX staking would cover the same transfers.

TRC-20 Transfer Fee Calculator features

Holder vs empty address

USDT energy measured on chain: 64,285 to an existing holder and 130,285 to an address with a zero balance.

Burn vs stake

Staked energy is used first and only the remainder is burned; bandwidth is paid in full from stake, free allowance or a burn, as the protocol does.

Live parameters on request

One keyless read of getEnergyFee, getTransactionFee, getFreeNetLimit and the USDT contract’s energy factor; the dated defaults stay if the node does not answer.

Batches and money

Several transfers at once, plus the cost in USD, INR, GBP or EUR at a TRX price you type.

Staking estimate

How the TRON fee is calculated

Per TRON’s documentation (read 24 October 2026), bandwidth costs getTransactionFee = 1,000 sun per byte and energy costs getEnergyFee = 100 sun per unit (1 TRX = 1,000,000 sun). Every activated account gets 600 free bandwidth a day, refilled over 24 hours, but energy has no free quota. Bandwidth for a transaction is taken from stake, else from the free allowance, else burned in full — the network does not mix them. Energy is taken from stake first and TRX is burned for the rest.

So, with nothing staked: TRX burned = (energy × energy price + bandwidth × bandwidth price) ÷ 1,000,000, where the bandwidth part is zero if your free 600 still covers the transaction.

Worked example: sending USDT to an address that already holds USDT uses 64,285 energy and 345 bandwidth. Energy: 64,285 × 100 = 6,428,500 sun = 6.4285 TRX. If your free bandwidth is used up, add 345 × 1,000 = 0.345 TRX, for 6.7735 TRX. To an address with a zero USDT balance the energy is 130,285, so about 13.03 TRX, or 13.37 TRX with bandwidth.

Where the energy figures come from

The USDT contract’s energy factor was 34,000 (×4.4) on 24 October 2026. A simulated transfer() on a public node used 64,285 energy (14,650 base + 49,635 dynamic penalty) to a holder and 130,285 (29,650 + 100,635) to a fresh address, and receipts of real transfers in the same block showed 345 bandwidth and exactly those energy totals. When the factor changes, this page scales the penalty in proportion — an estimate, marked as such. For other tokens, take the energy from your wallet’s estimate or a block explorer.

Ways to pay less

Comparing chains? See the Solana fee calculator and the gwei to ETH converter for Ethereum gas, or check the address first with the wallet address validator.

  • Stake TRX for energy (Stake 2.0). Energy refills over 24 hours, so a stake that covers one transfer covers one a day. Staked TRX is locked for a waiting period when you unstake.
  • Rented or delegated energy from another account works the same way as your own stake; compare its price with the burn shown here.
  • Send to addresses that already hold the token where you can, and batch payouts so recipients keep a small balance.
  • Set the fee limit high enough. A transfer whose fee limit is below the energy burn fails and still consumes what it used.

TRC-20 Transfer Fee Calculator FAQ

How much TRX is needed to send USDT TRC-20?

With no staked energy, about 6.43 TRX to an address that already holds USDT and about 13.03 TRX to one with a zero balance, plus 0.345 TRX if your free bandwidth is used up (24 October 2026 parameters).

Why is the fee higher for a new address?

The token contract has to create a new balance entry for an address that holds none, which costs about 15,000 more base energy before the dynamic surcharge — roughly double in total.

What is a TRON gas fee calculator?

TRON has no gas price; the “gas” is energy and bandwidth. A gas fee calculator for TRON, like this TRC-20 fee calculator, converts the energy and bandwidth of a transaction into the TRX that would be burned.

Does sending TRC-20 tokens activate a new account?

No. A TRC-20 transfer changes a balance inside the token contract; it does not create the TRON account or charge the 1 TRX account-creation fee that a TRX transfer to a new address pays.

What is the energy price in sun?

The chain parameter getEnergyFee — 100 sun per energy on 24 October 2026. It changes only by a governance proposal; press Get current chain parameters to read it.

Is this page connected to my wallet?

No. It never asks for an address or key. The optional button reads only network-wide parameters.
