Recent priority fees: paste an RPC response

This page does not call any Solana server. To see what others paid recently, send this request to your RPC provider (put an account your transaction writes to in the list, or remove the params), then paste the reply below:

{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"getRecentPrioritizationFees","params":[["<writable account address>"]]}

Fee rules from the Solana documentation, read 24 October 2026. Account rent deposits (for example when a new token account is created) and app or wallet fees are separate and not included.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter or upload is sent to a server.

What this Solana fee calculator works out

Every Solana transaction pays a base fee for each signature and, optionally, a priority fee that helps it get scheduled when the network is busy. This Solana transaction fee calculator adds the two up in lamports, SOL and your own currency, from three numbers: how many signatures the transaction has, the compute unit (CU) limit it requests, and the compute unit price in micro-lamports.

The rules come straight from the Solana documentation: 5,000 lamports per signature, plus ceil(CU price × CU limit ÷ 1,000,000) lamports of priority fee. One SOL is 1,000,000,000 lamports and one lamport is 1,000,000 micro-lamports, so the numbers are tiny in SOL but add up for bots and apps that send many transactions.

The page never contacts a Solana server. If you want to see what other transactions paid recently, paste a getRecentPrioritizationFees reply from your own RPC provider and it shows the median and high percentiles. Fees and rules can change; check the docs for current behaviour. This is a calculator, not financial advice.

How to use the Solana Transaction Fee Calculator

  1. Enter the number of signatures — normally 1, more for multi-signer transactions.
  2. Enter the compute unit limit your transaction requests (set with SetComputeUnitLimit) and the compute unit price in micro-lamports (SetComputeUnitPrice).
  3. Optionally enter how many transactions you will send and a SOL price to see the cost in money.
  4. Read the total in lamports and SOL, the burn/validator split and the table of priority levels.
  5. To pick a price, paste a recent priority fee response and press Use median or a higher percentile.

Solana Transaction Fee Calculator features

Exact fee formula

Base fee per signature plus the priority fee rounded up to a whole lamport, as the runtime does.

Lamports, SOL and money

Every amount in lamports and SOL, and in USD, GBP, INR or EUR when you type a SOL price.

Burn and validator split

Half the base fee is burned; the other half and the whole priority fee go to the validator.

The same transaction at 0 to 10 million micro-lamports per CU.

Recent fee percentiles

Paste an RPC reply to get the minimum, median, 75th and 90th percentile and maximum.

How Solana fees are calculated

The Solana documentation (read 24 October 2026) sets the base fee at 5,000 lamports per signature, split 50% burned and 50% to the validator. For legacy and v0 transactions the prioritization fee is ceil(compute_unit_price × compute_unit_limit ÷ 1,000,000) lamports, all of it paid to the validator. The default limit is 200,000 CU per instruction (3,000 for builtin instructions) and the maximum is 1,400,000 CU per transaction. Newer v1 messages set the priority fee as a total in lamports instead; enter it by choosing a price that gives the same total.

Worked example: one signature, a 200,000 CU limit and a price of 10,000 micro-lamports per CU. Priority fee = 200,000 × 10,000 ÷ 1,000,000 = 2,000 lamports. Total = 5,000 + 2,000 = 7,000 lamports = 0.000007 SOL. At a SOL price of $150 that is about $0.00105; a thousand such transactions cost 0.007 SOL, about $1.05.

Tips for lower fees

  • The priority fee is charged on the limit you request, not the units you use. Simulate the transaction, then set the limit a little above what it consumed.
  • Price follows demand for the accounts you touch. Query recent fees for the writable accounts in your transaction, not the whole network.
  • Zero priority still works when the network and your accounts are quiet; the base fee is always charged.
  • Rent is separate. Creating an account needs a rent-exempt deposit, which is not a fee and is not included here.

Why there is no live fee button

Solana’s public RPC endpoints are rate-limited and, in the documentation’s words, “not intended for production applications”; busy websites can be blocked. Rather than send your browser’s requests there, this page lets you paste a reply from an RPC provider you choose. Convert raw balances with the token unit converter, or compare with Ethereum gas in the gwei to ETH converter.

Solana Transaction Fee Calculator FAQ

How much is a Solana transaction fee?

The base fee is 5,000 lamports (0.000005 SOL) per signature. A priority fee is added on top: compute unit limit × price in micro-lamports ÷ 1,000,000, rounded up.

How do I calculate the Solana priority fee?

Multiply the compute unit limit by the compute unit price (micro-lamports per CU) and divide by 1,000,000. 200,000 CU at 10,000 micro-lamports is 2,000 lamports.

Is Solana gas the same as the fee?

Solana has no gas price like Ethereum. Its “gas” is the compute unit limit, and the fee is the base fee plus the priority fee described here.

Where does the Solana fee go?

Half of the base fee is burned and half goes to the validator; the whole priority fee goes to the validator.

What priority fee should I use?

Check what recent transactions touching the same accounts paid — paste a getRecentPrioritizationFees reply into this Solana fee calculator and start from the median or 75th percentile.
