TNEA Cutoff Calculator – Engineering, Agri & Medical Cutoff

Your 12th cutoff out of 200 for TNEA engineering, TNAU agriculture and TN paramedical, by official formulas.

TNEA: Mathematics 100 + Physics 50 + Chemistry 50 = 200 (Information Brochure 2026, §6(a)). Normalised marks are used for ranking, actual marks for the minimum-marks check.

TNEA cutoff calculator with the 2026 official formulas

This TNEA cutoff calculator works out your Tamil Nadu engineering cutoff out of 200 from your 12th marks — Mathematics 100 + Physics 50 + Chemistry 50 — exactly as the TNEA 2026 Information Brochure describes. The same page also calculates the TNAU agriculture aggregate, the vocational-stream engineering cutoff and the weighted total the Selection Committee uses for B.Sc. Nursing, B.Pharm, BPT and other paramedical degrees.

Many people search for a “cutoff calculator medical”: for MBBS and BDS in Tamil Nadu there is no 12th-mark cutoff any more, because admission is by NEET (UG) score. The nursing and paramedical formula here is the one still based on 12th marks. Every calculation runs in your browser.

How to use the TNEA Cutoff Calculator (Engineering, Agriculture, Paramedical)

  1. Pick the course: Engineering (TNEA), Engineering, vocational, Agriculture (TNAU) or Nursing & paramedical.
  2. Type your marks in each subject. Change “of 100” if your marksheet uses another maximum.
  3. Choose your community to check the minimum-marks rule for that course.
  4. Studied in CBSE, ICSE or another board? For TNEA tick normalise and enter the highest marks in your board and in the State Board.
  5. Read the cutoff out of 200, the working in the table, and copy the result.

TNEA Cutoff Calculator (Engineering, Agriculture, Paramedical) features

Engineering cutoff

Maths + Physics ÷ 2 + Chemistry ÷ 2, with the brochure’s normalisation for other boards and the 45 % / 40 % minimum on actual marks.

Agriculture (TNAU)

Four subjects each converted to 50 for Group I, II or II (A), with the 55 / 50 / 45 % / pass minimums by community.

Nursing and paramedical

Biology % (or Botany + Zoology, or Maths for B.Pharm) + Physics and Chemistry together %, as in the 2026-27 prospectus.

Vocational stream

Related subject out of 100 + vocational theory and practical together out of 100.

Normalisation (TNEA): if the State Board topper in Physics scored 100 and your board’s topper scored 90, your 60 is treated as 60 ÷ 90 × 100 = 66.67 (the brochure prints 66.66). CBSE and ICSE use the national highest marks. Normalised marks are used for ranking only, never for the minimum-marks check.

CourseFormula (out of 200)Example
B.E./B.Tech. (TNEA)Maths + Physics ÷ 2 + Chemistry ÷ 295 + 90/2 + 88/2 = 184.00
TNEA vocationalRelated subject + (theory + practical) as % 90 + 78 = 168.00
TNAU agriculture, horticulture…Each of 4 subjects ÷ 245 + 47 + 40 + 35 = 167
Nursing, B.Pharm, BPT (DME)Biology % + (Physics + Chemistry) %90 + 75 = 165.00

Minimum marks (2026)

  • TNEA academic and vocational: 45 % average for General (OC); 40 % for BC, BCM, MBC & DNC, SC, SCA and ST.
  • TNAU: 55 % aggregate (OC), 50 % (BC, BCM), 45 % (MBC & DNC), a pass for SC, SCA and ST.
  • Paramedical courses: 40–45 % depending on course and community — check the prospectus for your course.

What the cutoff does not tell you

Your cutoff decides your rank, not your seat. Seats are allotted in counselling by overall and community rank, and last year’s closing marks change every year with the number of applicants and seats. Use your cutoff to estimate where you stand, then follow the official rank list on tneaonline.org.

TNEA Cutoff Calculator (Engineering, Agriculture, Paramedical) FAQ

How is the TNEA cutoff calculated?

Cutoff = Mathematics (out of 100) + Physics ÷ 2 + Chemistry ÷ 2, out of 200. With 95, 90 and 88 the TNEA cutoff is 184.00.

Is there a cutoff calculator for medical in Tamil Nadu?

MBBS and BDS are admitted on NEET (UG) scores. For B.Sc. Nursing, B.Pharm, BPT and other paramedical degrees the Selection Committee uses Biology % + (Physics + Chemistry) %, out of 200 — choose “Nursing & paramedical”.

How is the agriculture cutoff calculated?

TNAU converts each of your four subjects to 50 marks and adds them. 90, 94, 80 and 70 give 45 + 47 + 40 + 35 = 167.

Do CBSE students get normalised marks in TNEA?

Yes. Each subject is scaled by the national highest mark in CBSE or ICSE against the State Board highest mark. Tick the normalise option and enter both toppers’ marks.

Are grace marks counted?

TNAU says grace marks are not counted for the aggregate or ranking. Use marks without grace marks.

Can I use this cutoff calculator for 12th marks from another state?

Yes, enter your marks and maximum marks; for TNEA tick normalise and enter your board’s highest marks.
