A Tambola number caller that speaks, in English and Hindi
This Tambola number caller draws the numbers 1 to 90 in random order, shows the latest number in large type, says it aloud and ticks it off on a full board. No number repeats within a game. Use it as the host’s tool on a laptop, tablet or phone connected to a speaker, or share the screen on a video call for a kitty party or family evening.
Voice can be English, Hindi or both. English calls read two-digit numbers the usual Housie way, “four seven, forty seven”; Hindi calls use the number names, such as “सैंतालीस”. Turn on classic nicknames for calls like “legs eleven” and “top of the shop”. A claim checker lets you type a winner’s ticket and see at once whether Early Five, a line, four corners or Full House is valid against what has been called.
Pair it with tickets from the Tambola ticket generator. Everything runs in your browser; the game is kept in this browser only so a refresh does not lose your place.
How to use the Tambola Number Caller
- Choose the voice language and tick or untick Speak each number. Tap once on the page first on phones, so the browser allows sound.
- Press Call next number for manual calling, or choose a gap and press Start auto-call.
- Watch the large number and the board. The row of small circles shows the last five numbers, newest first.
- When a player shouts, type their ticket into Check a claim, one row per line, and read which prizes are valid.
- Press New game to reshuffle. Add a seed if you want the same order again, for example to replay a game.
Tambola Number Caller features
No repeats
The 90 numbers are shuffled once per game and called in order, so each appears exactly once.
English and Hindi voice
Uses the speech voices on your device, with a Hindi voice for Hindi and English (India) where installed. If a voice is missing, the number is still shown.
Auto-call timer
Calls every 4 to 20 seconds and pauses by itself when you switch tabs, so numbers are not missed.
Full 1–90 board
A 10-by-9 board highlights called numbers so disputes about “was it called?” are settled in a glance.
Claim checker
Checks Early Five, top, middle and bottom lines, four corners and Full House for a typed ticket.
Repeatable games
An optional seed gives the same calling order again, useful for testing or a replay.
How the claim checker decides
Housie prizes differ between groups, so check which ones you are playing. The checker looks only at numbers called so far; if two players claim together or someone claims after the next call, the host makes the final decision.
| Prize | Valid when |
|---|---|
| Early Five | Any 5 of the 15 numbers on the ticket have been called |
| Top, Middle or Bottom line | All 5 numbers in that row have been called |
| Four corners | First and last number of the top row and of the bottom row have been called |
| Full House | All 15 numbers have been called |
Voice troubleshooting
- No sound on a phone: tap the page, raise media volume and check silent mode. Browsers only allow speech after a tap.
- Hindi sounds odd or silent: install a Hindi voice in your device’s text-to-speech settings. English (India) is used for English calls when your device has it.
- Voices differ by device. Chrome on Android, Safari on iPhone and Edge on Windows all work; the accent depends on the installed voice.
- On a video call, share a tab with audio, or play the sound through a speaker near the microphone.
Hosting tips
Eight to twelve seconds between calls suits a mixed-age group; five suits seasoned players. Announce prizes before starting, keep the board visible to everyone, and call out the number twice if the room is noisy. The classic nicknames are British bingo-style calls and are optional; regional Tambola calls vary and are not included.
Tambola Number Caller FAQ
How does the Tambola number caller work?
It shuffles the numbers 1 to 90 and reveals them one by one. Each press, or each timer tick, shows the next number, marks the board and speaks it if voice is on.
Can it call numbers in Hindi?
Yes. Choose Hindi or English then Hindi. It speaks the Hindi number names using a Hindi voice installed on your device.
Will a number ever repeat?
No. The order is a shuffle of 1 to 90, so every number is called once. After 90 the game ends.
Why is there no sound?
Browsers need a tap before speech, silent mode may mute it, and your device needs a voice for the chosen language. The number is always shown on screen.
Does it work with tickets from other sources?
Yes. Any standard 3×9 Tambola ticket works with the claim checker. Type its rows and the check does not depend on where the ticket came from.
Is the game saved?
The current game is kept in this browser so a refresh does not lose it. Nothing is sent to any server. Press New game to clear it.
