A signature maker for forms, PDFs and documents
This signature maker gives you a clean image of your signature three ways: draw it with a mouse, finger or stylus; type your name in one of ten handwriting fonts; or upload a photo of the signature you wrote on paper and let the tool remove the paper, crop to the ink and turn it blue or black. Download a transparent PNG at real size (300 DPI), a JPG or PNG of an exact pixel size for an online form, or a vector SVG of a drawn or typed signature.
Nothing is uploaded: the drawing, the typed name and the photo are processed in your browser and are not stored anywhere except, for drawings and settings, this browser’s own storage. A signature image is useful for letters, invoices and forms, but it is not a digital signature — the section below explains what the law in India, the US, the EU and the UK says.
How to use the Signature Maker

- Draw: sign in the white box (Undo removes the last stroke). Type: enter your name and tap a font. Photo: drop a picture of your signature on plain paper.
- Set the ink colour, pen thickness or slant; for photos, adjust the threshold if strokes look broken or the background shows.
- Under Download size, pick actual size at 300 DPI, a width in pixels, or the exact box an online form asks for, with a transparent or white background.

Is an image of my signature legally valid?
An image of a handwritten signature is, at most, a simple electronic signature. Whether it binds you depends on the document and on evidence that you placed it. A short summary, checked on 14 October 2026 (general information, not legal advice):

Getting a clean signature from a photo
Sign on plain white paper with a black or dark blue pen, a little larger than usual. Photograph it straight on in daylight, without the shadow of your phone. The tool divides each pixel by an estimate of the local paper brightness (so a shadow does not turn grey), then picks the ink threshold with Otsu’s method, which looks for the split that best separates two groups of brightness. Pixels darker than the threshold become ink, with a soft edge; specks smaller than the size you set are removed, and the result is cropped to the ink. Turn off “Automatic threshold” if thin strokes break up (raise the threshold) or grey paper shows (lower it).
Sizes for exam and job application forms
Portals publish their own rules, so read the current notice. For example, the Staff Selection Commission’s 2022 notice for its CHSL exam asked for a JPEG signature of 10–20 KB, about 4.0 cm wide and 2.0 cm high. Choose “Exact box”, enter the pixel size (or use actual size for centimetres), pick JPG with a white background, and if the file is too large, finish in the Signature Resizer, which compresses to a KB target.

How do I create my signature online?

Can I use the signature to sign a PDF?

Is a drawn or typed signature legally binding?
Often, for everyday agreements, because e-signature laws in India, the US, the EU and the UK do not reject a signature just for being electronic. It is not a digital signature certificate, though, and documents such as wills cannot be signed electronically in India.
How do I remove the background from a signature photo?
Choose Upload photo and drop the picture. The paper becomes transparent automatically; download a PNG to keep the transparency (JPG always has a white background).
Why are parts of my signature missing after cleaning?
The pen was too light for the automatic threshold. Untick “Automatic threshold” and raise the slider, or lower “Remove specks” if small dots such as the dot on an i disappear.
Should my signature be blue or black?
Both are common; many forms ask for black or dark blue ink. Blue helps show that a printed page was signed by hand rather than photocopied.
