My location coordinates: your latitude and longitude, privately
Press one button and this page shows your current location coordinates — latitude and longitude in decimal degrees — together with how accurate the fix is, your altitude when the device reports it, and the same position written as degrees-minutes-seconds, UTM, MGRS, a Plus Code and a geohash. Copy any line, copy everything at once, open the spot in a map, or share it with someone who is coming to meet you.
The coordinates come from your own device through the browser’s Geolocation API. They appear only after you press the button and your browser asks for permission, they are calculated and shown on this page only, and nothing is sent to a server or saved. Map links open only when you click them.
How to use the My Location Coordinates
- Press Show my location and choose Allow when your browser asks for location access.
- Wait a few seconds for the fix; outdoors with GPS or precise location turned on, accuracy is usually a few metres.
- Read your latitude and longitude, the accuracy circle and the other formats; press a copy icon to copy one line.
- Tick Keep updating as I move to follow your position while walking or driving, and press Stop when done.
- Use Copy all, Share or the map buttons to send or check your location.
My Location Coordinates features
Latitude and longitude
Six decimal places (about 10 cm of resolution) in WGS84, the datum used by GPS and web maps.
Honest accuracy
The browser’s accuracy radius in metres, with a plain-language note on whether it is GPS, Wi-Fi or a rough network guess.
Every common format
DMS, DDM, UTM, MGRS, an 11-character Plus Code and a geohash, from the same engine as the coordinate converter.
Altitude, heading, speed
Shown when your device reports them, typically on phones with GPS.
Private by design
No account, no upload, no storage — close the tab and it is gone.
Why the accuracy changes
Browsers combine several sources. A phone outdoors with satellite GPS usually reports ±3–20 m. Indoors or on a laptop the position comes from nearby Wi-Fi networks and mobile masts, typically ±30–100 m in cities and worse in the countryside. If location services are off, some browsers fall back to a guess from your internet connection that can be kilometres off. The accuracy figure is a radius: the true position is likely within that circle. Press the button again after a minute outdoors and it usually shrinks.
Altitude from the Geolocation API is height above the WGS84 ellipsoid, which can differ from height above sea level by tens of metres depending on where you are; many laptops and desktop browsers do not report it at all.
Which format do I need?
To convert other coordinates, use the coordinate converter; for the distance to another place, the distance calculator; and in India, the PIN code finder for the postal code of an area.
| Format | Example | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal degrees | 27.175100, 78.042100 | Maps, apps, messages, forms |
| DMS | 27°10′30.4″ N 78°02′31.6″ E | Charts, survey documents, Wikipedia |
| UTM / MGRS | 44R 206911 E 3009287 N | Topographic maps, rescue teams |
| Plus Code | 7JVW52GR+2RX | An address where there is no street address |
My Location Coordinates FAQ
How do I find my location coordinates?
Press Show my location on this page and allow location access. Your latitude and longitude appear in decimal degrees with the accuracy in metres, plus DMS, UTM and Plus Code versions.
Is my location sent anywhere?
No. The position is read by your browser, shown on this page and discarded when you close it. Nothing is uploaded or stored; map links only open if you click them.
Why does it say permission denied?
You or your browser blocked location for this site. Click the lock or location icon in the address bar, allow location, make sure Location Services are on in your phone or computer settings, and try again.
Why are my coordinates not accurate?
Indoors or on a laptop the browser estimates your position from Wi-Fi and mobile networks. Go outdoors, turn on GPS or precise location, and press the button again.
What format are the coordinates in?
WGS84 latitude and longitude in decimal degrees — positive for north and east, negative for south and west — the same as Google Maps and OpenStreetMap.
Can I share my location coordinates?
Yes: copy them, use Share on a phone, or open the map link and share that.
