Create professional invoices online in minutes
This free invoice generator turns your details into a clean, professional invoice you can send straight away. Add your logo and business details, your client, the work you did and your prices — the A4 preview on the right looks exactly like the finished document and updates as you type. When you’re done, press Download PDF or print it.
It handles the parts that usually need a spreadsheet: per-line tax rates, GST, VAT or sales tax, percentage or fixed discounts, shipping, part payments and the balance due. Choose from 30 currencies, three templates and any accent colour. For Indian businesses it can split GST into CGST and SGST and add a UPI QR code so clients can pay by scanning.
Your invoices never leave your device. Business details, logo and saved invoices are stored in your browser, invoice numbers count up automatically, and you can export everything as a backup file. It suits freelancers, consultants and small shops that need a few invoices a month.
How to use the Invoice Generator
- Under “Look & currency”, choose a template, accent colour, currency and the tax name used in your country (GST, VAT, sales tax).
- Fill in “Your business” once — name, address, tax ID and logo are remembered for every new invoice.
- Enter the client under “Bill to”, then set the invoice number, date and payment terms; the due date is calculated for you.
- Add line items with quantity, rate and tax %. Add a discount, shipping or an amount already paid if needed.
- Add notes, terms and your bank or UPI details, then check the preview (tap “Preview invoice” on a phone).
- Press “Download PDF” or “Print”. Use “New invoice” for the next one — it gets the next number and your last invoice is kept under “Saved invoices”.
Invoice Generator features
Sharp, real-text PDFs
The PDF is drawn as text and vector shapes rather than a screenshot, so it is small, crisp at any zoom and the text can be selected and searched.
Taxes done right
Per-line tax rates, grouped tax totals, discounts applied before tax, and an optional CGST + SGST split for intra-state GST invoices.
Live A4 preview
See the exact invoice while you type, in Modern, Classic or Minimal style with your colour and logo.
Automatic numbering
INV-0041 is followed by INV-0042, keeping your prefix and leading zeros, and skipping numbers you have already used.
UPI QR codes
For INR invoices, add your UPI ID to print a scan-to-pay QR code with the balance due already filled in.
Saved invoices and backups
Every invoice you download or start afresh from is saved on your device. Reopen, update or delete it, and export everything as JSON.
What should an invoice include?
A complete invoice gets you paid faster and keeps your accounts tidy. Most tax authorities expect at least the following:
- The word “Invoice” (or “Tax Invoice” where your GST rules require it) and a unique, sequential invoice number.
- The invoice date and, ideally, a due date or payment terms such as Net 15.
- Your business name, address and contact details, plus your tax registration number (GSTIN, VAT number or similar) if you are registered.
- The client’s name and address — and their tax number for business-to-business sales where required.
- A description of each product or service with quantity, price, tax rate and line total.
- The subtotal, each tax amount, any discount and the total amount due, in a stated currency.
- How to pay: bank details, UPI ID, a payment link or accepted methods, and any late-payment terms.
How the totals are calculated
Each line amount is quantity × rate. The subtotal is the sum of all lines. A discount is taken off the subtotal first, and tax is then charged on the discounted value of each line at that line’s rate — the usual approach for GST and VAT. Shipping is added after tax, and any amount already paid is subtracted to give the balance due.
Example: 10 hours at $50 with 10% tax plus 2 months of hosting at $25 with no tax gives a subtotal of $550. A 10% discount removes $55, tax is 10% of the discounted $450 design work ($45), and $20 shipping brings the total to $560. If the client has paid $100, the balance due is $460.
The GST calculator, VAT calculator and discount calculator are handy for checking single figures. These figures are a convenience, not tax advice — check the rules that apply to your business with an accountant or your tax authority.
Tips for getting paid on time
- Invoice promptly — the day the work is delivered, while it is fresh in the client’s mind.
- State a clear due date and the exact payment methods. A UPI QR code or full bank details remove friction.
- Quote the client’s PO number so their accounts team can match your invoice.
- Keep numbering consecutive and never reuse a number; if you make a mistake, issue a credit note rather than editing a sent invoice.
Invoice Generator FAQ
Is this invoice generator really free?
Yes. The invoice generator is completely free with no account, no watermark and no limit on how many invoices you create or download.
Are my invoices uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is processed in your browser, and your business details, logo and saved invoices are stored only on this device. Use Export JSON to back them up or move them to another device.
Can I make a GST invoice for India?
Yes. Choose INR and GST, set the document title to “Tax Invoice”, add your and your client’s GSTIN, and tick “Show GST as CGST + SGST” for sales within your state. Leave it unticked to show IGST-style single GST lines for inter-state sales.
Why does my PDF show “INR” instead of the ₹ symbol?
The PDF uses built-in fonts that don’t contain the rupee sign, so amounts are written as “INR 1,180.00”, which is equally valid. If you prefer the symbol, use Print and choose “Save as PDF” — the printed version uses your device’s fonts.
How do invoice numbers increase?
When you press “New invoice”, the number’s last group of digits goes up by one and keeps its prefix and leading zeros, so INV-0099 becomes INV-0100. Numbers already used by saved invoices are skipped.
Can I create quotes or receipts too?
Yes. Change the document title to Quotation, Proforma Invoice or Receipt. Quotations show “Valid until” instead of a due date.
Can I edit an invoice after downloading it?
Yes. Downloaded invoices are saved automatically. Pick it under “Saved invoices”, press Open, make your changes and download it again.
