Net worth calculator and tracker
Your net worth is everything you own minus everything you owe. This net worth calculator totals both sides — bank balances, deposits, investments, retirement accounts, property, gold and vehicles against home, car and personal loans, credit cards and other debts — and shows the answer in rupees with lakh and crore, or in any of 23 currencies.
Beyond the single number it shows what your wealth is made of: an asset-mix chart, how much you could actually reach within a week, how much is locked until retirement, and how much is tied up in things that are slow to sell. Save a snapshot whenever you update it and the history table tracks the change over months and years.
All figures are saved only in this browser on this device; nothing is sent anywhere. Values are your own estimates, so treat the result as a guide rather than financial advice.
How to use the Net Worth Calculator
- Pick your Currency. Changing it later relabels amounts but does not convert them.
- Under What you own, enter today’s value of each asset — the current balance, market value or resale value, not what you paid.
- Under What you owe, enter the outstanding balance of each loan and card, plus your monthly spending if you want the emergency-cover check.
- Read your net worth, debt-to-asset ratio, asset mix and liquidity split.
- Press Save today’s snapshot to add it to your history, and use Download CSV or Print to keep a copy.

How net worth is calculated — a worked example
Net worth = total assets − total liabilities. The example already filled in owns ₹20,000 in cash, ₹3,50,000 in bank accounts, ₹5,00,000 in deposits, ₹12,00,000 in mutual funds and shares, ₹8,50,000 in EPF, PPF and NPS, a ₹75 lakh flat, ₹4 lakh of gold and a car worth ₹6 lakh: ₹1,14,20,000 in all. Against that sit a ₹42 lakh home loan, a ₹3,50,000 car loan and ₹45,000 of card dues: ₹45,95,000.
Net worth is therefore ₹68,25,000 (₹68.25 lakh). Debts are 40.2% of assets; cash and deposits of ₹8,70,000 cover 14.5 months of ₹60,000 spending; and only 21.6% of the assets could be reached within a week, while 70.9% — mostly the flat — would take time to sell.
What to count, and at what value
| Item | Value to use |
|---|---|
| Bank accounts and deposits | Today’s balance; deposits at principal plus interest earned so far |
| Mutual funds and shares | Current value from your statement or app |
| EPF, PPF and NPS | Current balance in your passbook or statement |
| Property | A realistic sale price for similar homes nearby, not the purchase price |
| Gold | Weight × today’s rate for its purity (jewellery fetches less than the gold rate) |
| Vehicles | Resale value — usually far below what you paid |
| Loans and cards | Outstanding principal and current dues, not the EMIs left |
Reading the result
- Debt-to-asset ratio — liabilities ÷ assets. Below about a third is comfortable; above a half means a large share of what you own is borrowed. Plan repayments with the EMI calculator and clear expensive card balances with the credit card payoff calculator.
- Emergency cover — cash, bank balances and deposits ÷ monthly spending. Many planners suggest at least six months.
- Liquidity — a high net worth that is mostly a home and a provident fund cannot pay an urgent bill. Use the asset allocation calculator to plan a better spread.
- Net worth naturally dips when you buy a car or take a home loan, and grows as loans are repaid and investments compound — the trend across snapshots matters more than any one figure.
Net Worth Calculator FAQ
How do I calculate my net worth?
Add the current value of everything you own, add the outstanding balance of everything you owe, and subtract the second total from the first. The net worth calculator does this as you type and shows the mix and liquidity of your assets.
Should I include my house in net worth?
Yes, at a realistic market value, with the home loan as a liability. Because a home is hard to sell and you need somewhere to live, also look at the “available within a week” share.
Is my data stored or shared?
It is saved only in your browser’s local storage on this device, so it is there next time you visit. Nothing is uploaded; clearing your browser data removes it.
What is a good net worth for my age?
There is no single benchmark — it depends on income, family and where you live. A useful personal check is whether your net worth rises year after year and how it compares with your yearly expenses.
Can net worth be negative?
Yes, when debts exceed assets — common after an education loan or early in a home loan. Paying down high-interest debt and saving steadily turns it positive.
How often should I track my net worth?
Every quarter or six months is enough for most people. Save a snapshot each time and the tracker shows the change since the last one.
