A free certificate maker for achievement, completion and appreciation awards
This certificate maker produces clean, printable certificates in a minute. Start from one of four templates — achievement, completion, appreciation or participation — then edit every line: the organisation at the top, the title, the sentence that introduces the name, the citation under it, the date and up to two signatures with titles. Choose a classic double-rule border, a modern side bar or corner brackets, set the accent colour and font, and watch the page update as you type.
It is built for teachers, course providers, HR teams, sports clubs and volunteer coordinators who need a batch of certificates rather than one. Paste a list of names and each one gets its own page in a single PDF, laid out identically, ready to print on card or email as individual pages.
Nothing is uploaded: the names, the text and the PDF are produced in your browser.
How to use the Certificate Maker
- Pick a Template. It fills in a title, an introductory line and a citation that you can rewrite freely.
- Enter the Organisation, the Date and the recipient names, one per line. Each name becomes a page.
- Edit the Text under the name — what the certificate is for. Up to six wrapped lines fit; shorter reads better.
- Add one or two Signatures with job titles. Leave a signature blank to omit it; the date takes the middle slot.
- Choose a Border, Accent colour, Font and Paper (A4 or Letter, landscape or portrait), then Download PDF, Download PNG or Print.
Certificate Maker features
Four editable templates
Achievement, completion, appreciation and participation wording that follows the conventions of school, course and volunteer certificates — and every word can be changed.
Bulk names, one PDF
A list of up to 200 names becomes a multi-page PDF with one certificate per page, in list order.
Three border styles
A traditional double rule in your accent colour, a bold modern side bar, or minimalist corner brackets. Or no border, for pre-printed certificate paper.
Balanced typography
The title and name scale to fit the width, the citation wraps and centres, and signature lines are spaced evenly along the bottom with the date between them.
Landscape or portrait, A4 or Letter
Vector PDF at the exact page size, plus a 150 dpi PNG of any page for emailing or posting.
Serif or sans-serif
Times for a formal look or Helvetica for a contemporary one; both are embedded standard fonts so the PDF opens identically everywhere.
What to write on a certificate
A certificate has five parts, and this tool gives each its own field. Keep the citation to one or two sentences and name the specific course, event or contribution.
| Part | Examples |
|---|---|
| Title | Certificate of Achievement · Certificate of Completion · Certificate of Appreciation · Employee of the Month |
| Introductory line | This certificate is proudly presented to · This is to certify that · With sincere gratitude, presented to |
| Citation | “has successfully completed the 40-hour Introduction to Web Development course” · “for outstanding sportsmanship during the 2026 season” |
| Date and place | 17 October 2026 · Pune, 17 Oct 2026 |
| Signatures | Name and role — Programme Director, Head Teacher, Club Secretary |
Printing and sharing certificates
- Paper: 160–250 gsm card (60–90 lb cover) in white or cream. Parchment-effect certificate paper works with the “None” border setting.
- Scale: print at 100% / Actual size so the border margins stay even. Landscape certificates on A4 are 297 × 210 mm; on Letter 11 × 8.5 in.
- Signing: the PDF leaves a line for a wet signature. For a signed digital copy, add a drawn signature with the signature maker or a seal from the company stamp maker in a PDF editor, or print, sign and scan.
- Emailing individual certificates: download the PNG for each page, or split the multi-page PDF with a PDF splitter so each recipient gets one file.
- For matching stationery, the letterhead maker uses the same organisation line, and the name tag maker prints badges for the ceremony.
Certificate Maker FAQ
Can I make certificates for a whole class at once?
Yes. Paste the names one per line — up to 200 — and download. The PDF has one page per name with identical layout, so a class of 30 is a 30-page file.
Is the certificate maker free and without a watermark?
Yes. There is no watermark, no sign-up and no limit on how many times you use it.
Can I add a logo or a seal?
Not in this version — the layout is text and borders only. Print on paper that already carries your logo, or add the logo to the PDF afterwards with a PDF editor. The “Organisation” line at the top is the usual place for your name.
Which fonts are used?
Times (serif) or Helvetica (sans-serif), the standard PDF fonts, so the file is small and renders the same in every viewer. Names with accents (Chloé, Müller) print correctly; scripts such as Devanagari or Chinese appear as “?” in the PDF, though the on-screen preview and PNG show them.
Which page size should I use?
A4 landscape is standard in India, the UK and Europe; Letter landscape in the US and Canada. Portrait suits certificates with a longer citation. Pick the size your printer has loaded and print at 100%.
Can I save my settings?
Keep the PDF as your master. The fields are not stored, but re-entering the text takes a minute and the templates restore the standard wording.
