Add a watermark to your videos without uploading them
A visible watermark tells viewers who made a clip and makes it harder for others to repost it as their own. This free video watermark tool puts your name, website, “© 2026 Studio Name” or your logo on any MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV video — and on a whole batch of videos in one go, so every reel, lesson or product clip carries the same branding.
Choose a corner or edge on the 3×3 grid, or simply drag the watermark to any spot on the preview. Set its size, opacity and rotation, tile it diagonally across the frame for stronger protection, and show it for the whole video or only between two times — for example during the last ten seconds as an end card. Everything happens in your browser, so unreleased footage and client work never leave your device.
How to use the Video Watermark
- Drop one or more videos on the upload area. Their duration, resolution, frame rate, codecs and size appear under the preview.
- Choose Text and type your watermark, or choose Logo image and pick a PNG logo. Adjust size, colour, opacity, rotation and margin.
- Pick a position on the grid, drag the watermark on the preview, or tick “Tile across the whole frame”. Use the preview slider to check other moments of the video.
- Leave “Whole video” selected, or choose From – to and enter the start and end in seconds (the “Now” buttons copy the time of the preview frame).
- Press Add watermark, watch the progress bar, compare Before and After in the player, then download each video or all of them as a ZIP.
Video Watermark features
Text or transparent logo
Five font styles with bold and an adaptive shadow, or any PNG, WebP, JPG or SVG logo. Transparent PNGs keep their soft edges.
Grid, drag or tile
Nine preset positions with a margin, free placement by dragging on the preview, or a rotated repeating pattern across the frame.
Timed watermark
Show the mark for the whole clip or only between two timestamps, accurate to the frame.
Batch processing
Watermark several videos with the same settings. Sizes are relative to each video’s width, so portrait and landscape clips look consistent.
Sound left untouched
Only the picture is re-encoded. The audio track is copied packet for packet whenever the output format can hold it.
Private by design
Decoding, drawing and encoding run on your device with the browser’s own video encoder. Nothing is uploaded and no extra branding is added.
How the watermark is added
The tool uses Mediabunny (an open-source media library under the Mozilla Public License 2.0) together with WebCodecs, the video decoder and encoder built into modern browsers. Each frame is decoded, drawn onto a canvas, the watermark is painted on top at the video’s full resolution, and the frame is encoded again — as H.264 for MP4 and MOV files or VP9 for WebM — with the original timestamps. The audio is copied without re-encoding, so the soundtrack stays bit-for-bit identical.
Because the picture is re-encoded, the result is a new file rather than a copy with an overlay layer. “High” quality suits most uses; choose “Very high” to keep fine detail in screen recordings, or “Medium” for smaller files. Speed depends on your device and the resolution: a 1080p clip usually processes several times faster than real time on a recent laptop, and the progress bar shows frames per second and the time left.
Choosing size, opacity and position
- Social media and YouTube: a small logo or handle in a corner at 50–70% opacity. Keep it clear of the areas where apps place captions, buttons and channel names.
- Client previews and stock clips: a tiled, rotated pattern at 20–35% opacity is far harder to crop or blur out than a corner mark.
- End cards and credits: use From – to to show your website only in the last few seconds.
- Readability: white text with the shadow switched on stays legible over both bright and dark scenes.
- Photos too: use the image watermark tool with the same text so stills and videos match.
Limits worth knowing
The tool needs a browser with WebCodecs: current Chrome, Edge and Opera, Firefox 130 or later on a computer, or Safari 16.4 or later. The finished video is kept in memory until you download it, so very long or very large files (several gigabytes) can exceed what a phone or tablet can hold — trim them first with Trim Video. HDR footage is converted to standard dynamic range, and files that only play with codecs your browser lacks cannot be opened. A watermark deters casual copying but is not a lock: to see how marks can be painted out, look at Remove Video Watermark, and use tiled marks for anything valuable.
Video Watermark FAQ
How do I add a watermark to a video for free?
Drop the video on this page, type your text or choose your logo, pick a position and opacity, and press “Add watermark”. When the progress bar finishes, play the result and press “Download video”. There is no sign-up and no extra branding.
Can I add my logo to a video?
Yes. Choose “Logo image”, pick your logo file and set its width as a percentage of the video. A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result; opacity applies to the logo as a whole.
Can I watermark several videos at once?
Yes. Drop several videos together; the same watermark is applied to each, scaled to its width. Download them one by one from the list or together as a ZIP file.
Can the watermark appear only for part of the video?
Yes. Choose “From – to” and enter the start and end times in seconds. Scrub the preview to the right moment and press “Now” to copy its time.
Does adding a watermark reduce video quality?
The picture has to be re-encoded, which always changes it slightly, but at “High” or “Very high” quality the difference is hard to see. The audio is copied unchanged.
Are my videos uploaded to a server?
No. The video is read, watermarked and encoded inside your browser with Mediabunny and WebCodecs. Only the library itself is downloaded from a public CDN.
