PDF to CSV Converter

Turn the tables in a PDF into clean CSV — one file per table or one combined file with page numbers.

Convert PDF tables to CSV the way your software expects

The PDF to CSV converter finds the tables in a PDF and writes them out as comma-separated values — the plain format that every spreadsheet, database, accounting package and programming language can import. It is ideal for bank and credit-card statements, sales reports, price lists, exam results and any other PDF where the numbers are trapped in a table.

CSV looks simple, but small details decide whether an import works: the delimiter your Excel expects, how quotes and commas inside a description are escaped, whether amounts stay as “1,23,456.00” or become machine-readable 123456, which line endings are used, and whether accented letters and the ₹ sign survive. Every one of those is a setting here, and the output box shows exactly the text that will be saved.

The conversion runs in your browser, so a statement with your account number on it is never sent anywhere.

How to use the PDF to CSV Converter

  1. Drop the PDF on the upload area or click to choose it. Tables are detected on every page immediately.
  2. Choose a Delimiter, how to Quote fields, whether Numbers stay as printed or become plain values, and the Line endings.
  3. Pick One combined CSV to stack every table into one file with Table and Page columns, or One CSV per table for separate files.
  4. Press Preview next to any table in the list to see it as a grid and check the columns.
  5. Press Download CSV (several tables in per-table mode arrive as a ZIP) or Copy CSV.

PDF to CSV Converter features

Multi-page statements in one file

When the same table continues across pages with a repeated header, the combined CSV keeps a single header row and records the page each row came from.

RFC 4180 quoting

Fields that contain the delimiter, a double quote or a line break are quoted and inner quotes doubled. You can also quote every field, or only text fields for importers that use quotes to tell text from numbers.

Plain number option

Amounts like 1,23,456.00, $1,250.00 and (300.00) can be written as 123456, 1250 and -300, ready for SUM formulas, databases and scripts.

Excel-friendly encoding

A UTF-8 byte order mark and CRLF line endings make Excel open the file in the right encoding, so £, €, ₹ and accented names display correctly.

Borderless and ruled tables

Tables are found from drawn grid lines or from text that lines up in columns, and descriptions that wrap onto a second line are joined back into their row.

Nothing uploaded

The PDF is read with an open-source engine inside your browser tab.

What happens to amounts and dates

With As printed, every cell is written exactly as it appears in the PDF, including thousands separators and brackets. That is the safest choice when you want a faithful copy. With Plain values, anything that is clearly a number — Western grouping such as 1,234.56, Indian lakh and crore grouping such as 1,23,456.00, a minus sign, a bracket negative or a ₹, $, £ or € prefix — is rewritten as a bare decimal like 123456 or -300.

Dates are never changed, because 03/04/2026 means 3 April in India and the UK but 4 March in the US. Codes with leading zeros, such as PIN codes, and digit strings longer than 15 characters, such as card or account numbers, are always left as text.

When the columns are not quite right

Borderless tables with very narrow gaps between columns can occasionally merge two columns, and unusual layouts can split one. Switch Find tables using to “Whole page as one table” for stubborn statements, or open the file in the PDF Table Extractor, which has an editable grid with merge, split and delete controls and also exports Excel, JSON and Markdown. Scanned PDFs have no text layer at all — read them with Image to Text after converting the pages with PDF to JPG. To turn the CSV into JSON afterwards, use CSV to JSON.

PDF to CSV Converter FAQ

How do I convert a PDF to CSV?

Upload the PDF, check the CSV output box, and press “Download CSV”. Use “One combined CSV” to get every table in a single file, or “One CSV per table” to get a ZIP of separate files.

Can I convert a bank statement PDF to CSV?

Yes, provided the statement is a digital PDF rather than a scan. Transactions that run over several pages are combined, wrapped descriptions are joined to their row, and you can turn amounts into plain numbers for your spreadsheet or budgeting app.

Why does Excel show everything in one column?

Your Excel expects a different list separator — in much of Europe it is a semicolon. Choose “Semicolon” as the delimiter and download again, or import the file with Data → From Text/CSV and pick the comma.

Why do I see strange characters like ₹ in Excel?

Excel opened the file in the wrong encoding. Keep “UTF-8 BOM for Excel” ticked; the byte order mark tells Excel the file is UTF-8.

Is this PDF to CSV converter safe for confidential files?

Yes. The file is read and converted by JavaScript in your browser and is never uploaded to a server.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

No — a scan is a picture with no text to convert. Run OCR first: export the pages as images and use Image to Text, then paste the result into a spreadsheet.
