Make a synced lyrics file by tapping along
An LRC file is a plain-text file that pairs each lyric line with a time, such as [01:23.45]Line of the song. Music players, karaoke apps and car stereos read it to scroll lyrics in time with the music. This LRC maker builds one for you: play the song, tap at the start of each line (or each word), fine-tune anything that is slightly off, and download the file.
You bring the lyrics. Paste text you have the right to use, or load a .txt or .lrc file. The tool adds only the timing, and it can export plain .lrc, enhanced word-by-word LRC and .srt subtitles for lyric videos.
The song plays from your device and nothing is uploaded, so unreleased tracks and private recordings stay private.
How to use the LRC Lyrics Maker
- Choose the song. The player appears with a back-3-seconds button and a speed control; 0.75× makes fast songs easier to follow.
- Paste the lyrics, one line per row, and fill in the title and artist if you like. An existing .lrc pasted here is read, so you can correct its timing.
- Press Start syncing, play the song, and tap the big Tap button (or press Space or Enter) the moment each line begins. The next line is shown ahead of time.
- Choose Each word before you begin if you want karaoke-style word timing. Tap at the start of every word.
- Slip? Press Undo tap, or use Tap from here on a line to redo from that point. Nudge a line by 0.1 s, type an exact time, or move all lines together.
- Pick a format, check the preview, then download or copy it.
LRC Lyrics Maker features
Line and word timing
Tap per line for standard LRC, or per word for the enhanced format that karaoke apps use to highlight each word.
Three export formats
Plain .lrc, enhanced .lrc with word tags, and .srt with start and end times for each subtitle.
Easy corrections
Undo, tap from any line, ±0.1 s nudges, typed times, a global shift and a reaction-lead setting that places every tap a little earlier.
Gaps and line ends
Mark an instrumental break or the end of the last line with a timed empty line, as many LRC players expect.
Header tags
Title, artist, album and creator tags are written at the top of the file.
Works offline once loaded
Everything runs in the page; the audio never leaves your device.
What the formats look like
LRC times are minutes, seconds and hundredths. SRT times are hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds, and each cue needs an end time. Here a cue ends when the next one starts, but never lasts longer than the limit you set.
| Format | Example | Used by |
|---|---|---|
| LRC | [00:12.50]Line of the song | Most music players and car stereos |
| Enhanced LRC | [00:12.50]<00:12.50>Line <00:12.90>of | Karaoke and word-highlighting apps |
| SRT | 1 / 00:00:12,500 --> 00:00:15,000 / Line of the song | Video editors and lyric videos |
Tips for accurate timing
- Tap on the first sung syllable, not the last note of the line before. Slow the song to 0.75× for fast verses; the saved times are always real song time.
- Every person reacts a little late. If your taps are always behind the singer, set a reaction lead of 100–200 ms or shift all times by −0.15 s afterwards.
- Players show a line until the next time arrives. Use Mark a gap after the last line of a verse so lyrics clear during a solo.
- Need only the words? Audio to Text can write a transcript of a clear recording, which you can then time here. Convert between subtitle formats with the Subtitle Converter.
Limits
- Automatic alignment is not included. This tool times what you tap; it does not listen to the song.
- Words are split at spaces. Languages written without spaces are timed line by line.
- The work is not saved if you close the tab, so download the file before you leave.
LRC Lyrics Maker FAQ
How do I make an LRC file?
Choose the song, paste the lyrics, press Start syncing, and tap at the start of each line as the song plays. Pick the .lrc format and download.
Can I time every word?
Yes. Choose Each word before tapping and use the enhanced word-by-word LRC export. Lines you tapped by line are exported as normal lines.
Does it work out the timing automatically?
No. It relies on your taps, which are usually more accurate for singing than speech recognition. The Audio to Text tool can make a transcript of speech if you need one.
Where do the lyrics come from?
You supply them. Only use lyrics you wrote or have permission to use; lyrics of published songs are usually copyrighted.
Is it free and private?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and the song and lyrics are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Which players read the file?
Most players read .lrc if it has the same name as the audio file and sits in the same folder. Check your player’s help for lyrics support.
