Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter or upload is sent to a server.

Fill PDF forms online in a clean, simple layout

Fillable PDFs are everywhere — job applications, school admission forms, KYC and account-opening forms, visa checklists, medical history forms, tax worksheets — but filling them on a phone or in a browser’s tiny boxes is fiddly. The Fill PDF Form tool reads every field in the PDF and shows them as a clear, readable form beside the page, so you can type comfortably and see exactly where each answer will go.

Text boxes, multi-line boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns and list boxes are all supported. Focus a field and its spot lights up on the page; tap a highlighted area on the page and the tool jumps to that field. When you are done, download the filled PDF — or flatten it so the answers become a permanent part of the page.

The PDF is filled inside your browser and never uploaded, which matters for forms full of personal details.

How to fill out a PDF form online

  1. Drop a fillable PDF onto the upload area or click it to choose the file.
  2. Fill in the fields in the form panel. Required fields are marked with *, and each field shows the page it is on.
  3. Click into a field to see where it sits on the page, or tap a highlighted area of the page to jump to its field.
  4. Tick Flatten the form if the answers should no longer be editable — for example before emailing a final copy.
  5. Press Download filled PDF. Use Reset answers to go back to the values the PDF came with.

Fill PDF Form features

Every common field type

Single-line and multi-line text, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns (including editable ones) and single or multi-select lists.

Page preview with highlights

The current field is highlighted on the rendered page, and the preview turns to the right page automatically.

Respects the form’s rules

Read-only fields stay locked, character limits are applied, and required fields are marked and reported if left empty.

Optional flattening

Turn answers into ordinary page content so they can’t be changed and look the same in every viewer.

XFA detection

Dynamic XFA forms that browsers can’t fill are detected and explained; hybrid forms are filled through their standard fields.

Private

No upload and no account — your answers stay on your device.

Fillable or flat: what kind of PDF do you have?

A fillable PDF contains interactive form fields (AcroForm). This tool lists them as soon as the file opens. A flat PDF is just a picture of a form — a scan or a document printed to PDF — and has no fields, so there is nothing to fill. You can add fields to it with Create PDF Form, or type corrections onto the page with PDF Whiteout.

An XFA form is a third kind, built with Adobe LiveCycle or AEM Forms Designer and used by some government departments. Its fields are defined in XML that only Adobe Acrobat and Reader on desktop can display, so open those in Acrobat Reader.

Should you flatten a filled form?

  • Flatten when sending a final copy: answers can’t be altered by accident, and they look the same in every app, including ones that don’t display form fields well.
  • Don’t flatten if someone else still needs to edit or add to the form, or if the recipient’s system reads the form data automatically.
  • Need a signature? Add one with Sign PDF after filling. Combine the form with supporting documents using Merge PDF.
  • The standard form font covers Latin letters, digits and common symbols. Write ₹ as “Rs.”; the tool tells you if a character can’t be shown.

Fill PDF Form FAQ

How do I fill a PDF form online for free?

Open the PDF in Fill PDF Form, type your answers in the form panel beside the page and press “Download filled PDF”. There is no sign-up or watermark.

Why doesn’t my PDF show any fields?

It is probably a flat PDF — a scan or a printed copy with no form fields. Add fields with Create PDF Form, or write on it with PDF Whiteout.

What is an XFA form and why can’t I fill it here?

XFA is an Adobe-only form format used by some government forms. Browsers and most PDF tools can’t display its fields. Open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader on a computer, or ask for a standard version.

What does flattening a PDF form do?

It converts the fields and your answers into ordinary page content. The result looks the same everywhere, but the answers can no longer be edited.

Can I fill a PDF form on my phone?

Yes. The form panel uses normal inputs that work well with phone keyboards, and the filled PDF downloads to your device.

Is my information uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and filled entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.
