Bangle size chart for Indian sizes, with a sizer you can print
Indian bangle sizes such as 2.2, 2.4, 2.6 and 2.8 are a measurement in disguise: the number after the point counts sixteenths of an inch, so size 2.4 has an inside diameter of 2 4/16 inches — 2¼ in, or 57.2 mm. This bangle size chart turns any size into millimetres, centimetres and inches, and works the other way too: measure a bangle that fits you, or your hand, and it tells you the size to buy.
If you have nothing to measure with, calibrate your screen with a bank card and lay a bangle on the circle, or print the true-scale bangle sizer — a target of rings for sizes 2.0 to 2.14 and a strip to wrap round your hand, with a 50 mm square and a card outline to check the print. Everything runs in your browser.
How to use the Bangle Size Chart & Sizer
- Under I know, pick your bangle size, a bangle’s inside diameter, or your hand measurement.
- Read the size with its inside diameter and circumference; your row is highlighted in the chart.
- To measure a bangle, place a ruler across the centre and read the widest distance between the inner edges.
- To measure your hand, bring your thumb and little finger together as if slipping a bangle on, and wrap a strip of paper round the widest part (the knuckles). Mark the overlap and measure the length.
- Or print the sizer: choose A4 or Letter, press Print or Download PDF, print at 100% and check the 50 mm square before use.

Three ways to find your size
From a size, from a bangle’s inside diameter (mm or inches), or from your hand measurement.
Calibrated on-screen circle
Match a bank card once, then match the circle to a bangle; the calibration is saved in this browser.
True-size printable sizer
Vector PDF, PNG or print, with a 50 mm square and a bank-card outline to prove the scale.
Bangle sizes in mm, cm and inches
The figures follow the 2 + n/16 inch rule used in jewellers’ guides such as BlueStone’s. A few brands publish charts a few millimetres larger, so when you order from a particular shop, compare its inside diameter with a bangle you already own.
| Size | Inside diameter | Circumference | Typical fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.2 | 2 1/8 in · 54.0 mm | 169.6 mm (17.0 cm) | Small |
| 2.4 | 2 1/4 in · 57.2 mm | 179.5 mm (18.0 cm) | Small to medium |
| 2.6 | 2 3/8 in · 60.3 mm | 189.5 mm (19.0 cm) | Medium |
| 2.8 | 2 1/2 in · 63.5 mm | 199.5 mm (19.9 cm) | Medium to large |
| 2.10 | 2 5/8 in · 66.7 mm | 209.5 mm (20.9 cm) | Large |
| 2.12 | 2 3/4 in · 69.9 mm | 219.4 mm (21.9 cm) | Extra large |
Getting a size that fits
- Measure over the knuckles, not the wrist. A rigid bangle has to pass over the widest part of the hand, so the wrist measurement is too small.
- Between sizes, go up. A bangle that is slightly loose slides on; one that is slightly tight will not.
- Thick and heavy bangles (kadas, wide gold bangles) feel tighter — consider one size up. Openable bangles and kadas with a screw are more forgiving.
- Glass and lac bangles have no give at all; use the exact size or the next one up.
- For rings, use the ring size chart; for chains, the necklace length chart.
Bangle Size Chart & Sizer FAQ
What does bangle size 2.2 mean?
An inside diameter of 2 and 2/16 inches — 2⅛ in, or 54 mm — and an inside circumference of about 169.6 mm (17 cm).
What is bangle size 2.4 in cm?
About 5.7 cm across the inside and 18.0 cm round. Size 2.6 is 6.0 cm across and 19.0 cm round.
Which bangle size is most common?
In India, 2.4 and 2.6 are the sizes most often stocked for adult women, with 2.2 for slim hands and 2.8 for larger ones. Your measurement matters more than the average.
How do I measure my bangle size at home?
Measure a bangle that fits, straight across the inside, or wrap a paper strip round your hand at the knuckles with thumb and little finger together. Enter either number here.
Is the printable bangle sizer accurate?
Yes, when printed at 100% or “Actual size”. The 50 mm square and the bank-card outline show at once whether the printer scaled the page.
Are bangle sizes the same in every shop?
Mostly, but not exactly: some jewellers’ charts are a few millimetres larger. Compare inside diameters in millimetres with the shop’s own chart.
